Today while exploring Kennebunkport w/my best friend we stumbled upon this used book shop consisting of solely murder + horror + true crime novels. The owner is a woman in (I’m guessing) her early 60s. It’s located in the carriage house in her backyard and it’s sorted by type of horror and by country of origin. She explained to me that Scandinavian horror novels tend to be full of lots of gore + blood, while Russian authors focus more on mystery and classic horror themes. As you can see she even has, yes that’s right, a “Cat Crimes” section. Guys, I think I stepped into a time loop and met myself 30 years in the future. It was excellent, she was sweet and thankful. Highly recommend if you’re a horror buff and/or visiting Maine. Slightly creepy + cute + I am in love and surprised I only left with one book. 🥀
